Let me start by giving you a little background information about myself and how I began making 1911 pistol grips.

I am currently a Police Officer in Austin, TX, and also a retired Air Force-One crew member in the Security Police Career Field.

Four years ago, I purchased a stainless Kimber Custom II as my on and off duty weapon, I decided that I wanted a nice set of wood grips to replace the standard black rubber grips from the factory. So I got to work in my garage and made a few sets out of an old 2 x 4. When the grip panels from the 2 x 4 met my approval, I made a set out of a piece of Birdseye Maple given to me by an old family friend that handcrafts Black Powder Rifles (yes, the WHOLE rifle). Then one day when I was at a fellow Officer's private range to get some practice in, he decided that he had to have a set of grips like mine (if I wanted to keep shooting there), so I gladly made a set for his .45.

The next customer came along while visiting the local lumber yard one day. My wonderful wife and shooting partner (also a talented scrapbooker) was with me, when she decided that her stainless Kimber Pro Carry HD would be the perfect 1911 if it only had a set of Tulipwood grips. As you can see, one set lead to another and here I am today, playing Cops and Robbers, making grips, and enjoying every minute of it.

As to how I choose my company name, there are 2 reasons. The first and fore most reason is the definition of Paladin; "any knightly, paragon of chivalry or heroic champion, a determined advocate or defender of a noble cause." Which I try to live by on a daily basis. And the second is Richard Boone and the TV series "Have Gun Will Travel." And that is how I found the name of my company.
